Exclusive - Ducktales Remastered For The Mac

Today, as digital storefronts shutter and licenses expire, this version has become lost media to some extent. But for those who still have a Mojave Mac or are willing to emulate, the pogo-jump awaits. And who knows? With Disney’s recent revival of classic games and Apple’s growing investment in gaming (Game Porting Toolkit, Metal 3), we may one day see a 4K 64-bit DuckTales Remastered re-release—possibly exclusive to the Mac once again.

Fast forward to 2013. Capcom announced DuckTales Remastered . This wasn’t just a port. WayForward rebuilt the game from scratch using hand-drawn sprites, original voice actors (including the late Alan Young as Scrooge), and full animated cutscenes inspired by the 1987 TV series. It was a remake that respected its roots while offering modern visuals and audio. When DuckTales Remastered originally launched, it was released on Steam for Windows PCs. Mac users were left out in the cold—for a short while. Shortly after the initial release, a Mac version did appear on digital storefronts like the Mac App Store and SteamPlay (cross-platform). But why do some call it “exclusive”?

Until then, remember: Life is like a hurricane, here in Duckburg. But for a brief, shining moment, Mac users could ride that storm in exclusive style.
